Goergen Lifestyle Event by SieMatic has put its Stein showroom on Nijverheidsweg aside for SieMatic this first weekend of October, Saturday the 3rd from 10:00 to 16:00 and Sunday the 4th from 12:00 to 17:00. The later Sunday start catches people out every year, so if a morning visit suits you better, go on the Saturday.

From Sittard it’s about a quarter of an hour. Maastricht and Heerlen are each around twenty minutes away, which puts most of South Limburg within easy reach for an afternoon.
What the Showroom Floor Actually Looks Like
A business park doesn’t promise much from the outside, and the building gives nothing away either. Inside there are 2,500 square metres and more than 80 kitchens set up at full size, and Goergen is the only SieMatic dealer in the whole of Limburg, so this is the one place in the province where the full SieMatic range can be seen side by side.
The lines on display cover a wide spread of taste. Urban leans industrial, Classic goes the traditional way, and Pure with its SLX version is the flat, minimal one with lighting worked into the grip strips. Mondial is the newest and the most decorative of the lot. Worktops run from composite to granite to ceramic, and among the appliances there are steam ovens and wine climate cabinets built in, the kind of thing most people have only ever seen in a catalogue.
If SieMatic turns out to be further than the budget will stretch, Pronorm and Häcker kitchens are standing in the same showroom, which saves a second trip somewhere else.
Bring Your Measurements, Not Just Your Ideas
The SieMatic specialists are there both days to help with design and layout, and a conversation with them goes a lot further when the room can be described in numbers. Before you drive over, jot down:
- the length of each wall, and the ceiling height.
- where windows, doors and radiators are.
- where the water and gas connections come in.
- what drives you mad about the kitchen you have now.
A couple of phone photos of the current room help as well. A designer can sketch a real layout from that in half an hour, whereas “something light, maybe with an island” mostly gets you a brochure to take home.
Ask about the showroom kitchens too. Every so often Goergen replaces display models on the Stein floor, and the ones coming out are sold at a reduced price. The staff will know which set-ups are on their way out, and a busy event weekend is a natural moment to find out.
Already Own a Goergen Kitchen? Bring the Oven’s Model Number
The invitation also goes out, quite deliberately, to people who bought their kitchen years ago. Plenty of steam ovens and induction hobs in Limburg get used for three or four functions and nothing else, and a demonstration by someone who cooks on that exact equipment every day shows more in twenty minutes than the manual ever did.
Write down or photograph the model number from the appliance itself before leaving home. Then the questions get answered for the oven you actually own, not for the latest model on the stand.
Tastings and Extras From Earlier Years
At past editions Miele, Bora, Siemens and ATAG sent their own people to cook, and there were wine, sushi and fingerfood tastings, plus one year a cocktail bar and a coffee cart. The programme for this year hasn’t been spelled out in that much detail, so it’s better to count on the cooking and the advice and take anything extra as a pleasant surprise.
